Q. What is the "minimum order" ?

A. Collectors should understand that postage and packing is a cost. We offer it for free (Priority Air Mail) but only for customers who buy at least 50 Euro. If you order lass than 50 Euro we have to contact you and apply postage charges for your country.

Q. When did your web site start ?

A. We begun in november 1996 with a very small web site. Now we're in a major US hosting service. Just for a statistical matter, our previous web sites had the following names : www.vol.it/mignon - web.tin.it/mignon  - mignon.pair.com. We were also called www.perfuminis.com and now we are www.profumeriadacollezione.com )

Q. I'm a wholesaler, I'm interested in buying large quantities of your perfume miniatures.

A. Sorry, but we only sell to private collectors.

Q. Do you sell regular size bottles (for example 50ml or 100ml) ?

A. No. We only sell perfume miniature bottles. The "Vintage" section has bigger bottles, but they're only for collectors and not for personal usage.

Q. I can see no informations about female or male scent in many minis in the "Vintage" section, why ?

A. Because we're sure it makes no difference to the real collector. The perfume inside is often so old that it's unusable or greatly modified in the scent (if it's more than 20 years old)

Q. I saw that you sell "Dolce & Gabbana" miniature. Can you put me in contact with the manufacturer, or can I order thru you their products?

A. No. We're sorry but there is no contract or deal among Manufacturers and us. Thus we can't (and we don't have the time) put you in contact with them. Try different solutions on the web since we can't help you. Our minis come from private collections only !

Q. Can you send me free copies of these miniatures (samples)?

A. No. We sell them, it's our aim.

Q. Can I have a free printed catalogue ?

A. No, simply because we never printed any catalogue. You can only choose from our internet catalogue.

Q. I can't find that miniature I ordered inside the parcel I've just received !!! I can see only the box!!

A. Sometimes it happens that someone says :"Hey, I can't find that mini !!!" The reason is simple...we often pack separately mini from their package because it's much safer. Once it happened that a mini inside the box (not wrapped tightly separately) was damaged by transport (the cap was broken) and all the perfume inside went all over the box. You can imagine the mess of the entire parcel !!!! Since then we pack separately the risky or expensive bottles. Please, check accurately inside your parcel and you'll find all the minis you ordered and you paid for !

Q. That miniature I received doesn't have its cap!!!

A. Check in the parcel and you'll find it. Caps are often the weakest part of the entire bottle and we prefer to remove the original cap and put a plastic stopper to prevent leak of perfume. Inside the single package of the perfume bottle you'll find always the original cap. Simply remove the plastic stopper and replace it with its cap.

Q. I don't feel secure about giving you my credit card data but I saw that you offer SSL protection. What is it?

A. Right now Secure Socket Layer (SSL) is the only way to shop securely. When your broswer shows a closed padlock it means that you're using SSL technology. You're in direct connection with the server hosting our site so that all the informations you give are encrypted and NOBODY can see them. Your credit card is stored in a secure area and only our staff can see it. If you prefer you can use Paypal !

Q. I don't have a credit card...how can I order?

A. You can still order but it's a very long process. You can send us a postal order (International Money Order) or a cheque made out us, but it's not safe at all. Your payment may take up to 4 months before arriving here. Or you can make a bank wire to our account (good solution for big orders). Always contact us before submitting such an order. Or you can use Paypal!

Q. What does it happen if I receive a broken or empty miniature?

A. You can ship it back to us (at your expenses, it means you pay postage) and we'll refund it with a new one shipped by surface mail (we pay this postage back to you). If that mini is no longer available you'll be contacted to choose from another one or you can have a credit on future orders or we can simply recharge your credit card with the amount paid for that miniature.

Q. What does it happen if I never receive any miniature ordered from you ?

A. Fortunately this is not a F.A.Q. but if it ever happens that's not our fault. We can contact the Post Office (for Priority Mail) or EMS  (the postage services we use) but we believe it's very difficult to obtain some money back. This is not just a problem of Perfuminis, this is a global problem. We'll try to fix it anyway !

Q. I want to order just a miniature which costs 11 Euros, can I buy it?

A. Of course you can, but it may not be convenient for you, since shipping rates could be too high to be competitive. We suggest a minimum order of 50 Euros to make it convenient. (we removed the minimum order of 50 Euros)

Q. What is the difference between Priority Air Mail and EMS Cai Post?

A. Priority Mail is a good and fast service. It may take up to 2 weeks in delivery time. If something goes wrong there is no insurance, even if we always try to do our best in order to avoid any problem. EMS CAI POST can be seen as DHL or UPS, a very good private-public service that can track the package. Thus we can always know where the package is and, moreover, they can refund some money if the package gets lost or broken somewhere. Usually they refund the money you spend for the shipment plus 20 EURO. It's a long process, but it's always something more than Priority Air Mail.

Q. Postage charges are too high!

A. Sorry, this is not our fault. We apply exactly what we pay for a shipment. We don't make profit on postage !

Q. I want to use DHL, but you don't support it. What can I do?

A. If you can't see the word DHL on our web site, it doesn't mean that we don't support it. We can satisfy your requests without any problem. Simply note that DHL (like UPS, TNT, Fedex, just like any other private mail service) is more expensive than EMS. PLEASE NOTE THAT, IN MANY COUNTRIES, DHL DOES NOT SHIP ALCOHOL, THUS WE CAN'T USE IT FOR OUR PERFUMES !!!!!!

Q. Is it possible to come to you so that I don't pay postage charges and can touch the miniatures I want to buy?

A. Of course it is. Always contact us for an appointment at our usual address: mignon@tin.it

Q. I want to buy a lot of miniatures, do you make discounts?

A. Yes, we make discounts on big orders. Always contact us if you want to submit an order of 400 Euros or more, we'll se what we can do.

A. Sorry we can't satisfy such an order. We only sell to collectors, not to wholesalers.

Q. What is the exchange rate of your currency?

A. We can't put dozens of rates on line, since we'd have to calculate them at least every week. Connect to http://www.perfuminis.com/html/conversion.htm and calculate the exchange rate you wish.

Q. Who are your suppliers?

A. We take all the miniatures you see on our web site from private collectors, through exchanges, stock offers from perfume shops or exhibitions.

Q. Are your miniatures in perfect condition?

A. Not necessarily, due to the fact that we buy them from collectors. Given price is, anyway, fair to the miniature's conditions.

Q. I have a lot of miniatures, do you want to buy them?

A. No, we're not interested in other miniatures. We only make exchanges on vintage regular size bottles.

Q. I have a lot of modern miniatures, just like the one shown on your web site, do you want to exchange them?

A. Well, no, thanks. Modern minis are widely available here in Italy and we already have our suppliers.

Q. Are you a Company?

A. Yes. When we started we were private collectors, but, since 1 /1 /2000, the well known italian publisher Sound Project Editore decided to fully promote the site

Q. Who is Sound Project Editore?

A. Sound Project Editore is a publishing house which makes books and a magazine about perfume miniature's collection.

Q. I want to know the ingredients of the fragrances you sell.

A. It's impossible for us to know them, sorry.

Q. I saw a miniature containing a fragrance from 20 years ago...is the perfume inside the same as then?

A. It may be possible, but we don't give any guarantee. Even if the bottle was never opened the smell may change year by year due to the alcohol natural evaporation. That's why some of the miniatures we sell are not completely full.

Q. I want to buy Vetiver by Carven, but I don't collect boxes...can I buy it without box?

A. No, you can't. If the photo on our web site shows a miniature with its box, it means that they are inseparable and must be bought together. That's why we also make special prices for miniatures without boxes. Go to the "Modern" unboxed section to find what's available. Or, in the "Antique" section have a look at the photo..

Q. I want you to charge my credit card in my currency.

A. It's impossible. Credit cards in Italy do not accept chargings in other currency but EURO.

Q. That miniature is too expensive!

A. You're free not to buy it. Some minis are expensive because of their rarity, other due to their demands.

Q. I'd like to have a miniature which is not listed in your internet catalogue, can you obtain it?

A. Sometimes we can satisfy such a request, but it is often difficult and expensive. Anyway, feel free to ask whatever you wish!

Q. That miniature shows: "sample, not for sale", why do you sell it?

A. The reason is that there is no law stating that we can't sell it. That notice is given to perfume shops, to whom the manufacturers give these miniatures for free. Perfumeries should give the minis only as a gift to customers who buy regular size bottles, but these customers can do what they want with the miniatures received.

Q. Shall I safely buy and resell the "not-for-sale" miniatures?

A. Of course you can ! Some miniatures are more precious if the "not for sale" notice appears. If you own a perfume shop and want to sell our "not for sale" miniatures, simply do it ! You didn't sign any contract with any manufacturer stating that you received these minis for free and that they must be given as a gift to customers.

Q. I often buy minis from you, may I have any special offer?

A. Well, yes. You can become our "frequent customer" and obtain some discount. Simply ask !

Q. Do you accept fax orders?

A. Yes. Our fax number is +39.02.33.611.676 and the machine is located in a secure area. Simply write the code numbers of the minis you want, add your address, chose the shipment method and write your credit card. I suggest you to include your email and your fax number too so that we can contact you if there's any problem.
